We know that the right support is not just about tasks or plans. It is about trust. It is about feeling comfortable enough to be yourself. It is about being met without judgement and supported in a way that makes room for your pace, your needs and your goals.
That is the heart of what we do. We walk beside people, create space for confidence and independence to grow, and offer support that feels grounded in care rather than pressure.

We take the time to understand the person, build trust properly and support people in ways that feel safe, inclusive and real. That means no judgement, no one-size-fits-all approach, and no expectation that someone has to explain themselves perfectly to be understood.
Our Approach
Our work is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred care. That means we recognise the importance of emotional safety, trust, consistency, choice and dignity in every part of support.
Rather than offering rigid, one-size-fits-all services, we focus on support that is tailored, collaborative and built around the individual. We believe people do best when they feel heard, welcomed and genuinely understood.

Among The Gumtrees provides warm, person-centred disability support across Adelaide and selected surrounding areas. We work with participants, families, carers and support coordinators to provide support that feels calm, respectful and built around the person, not a one-size-fits-all model.
We support people across inner Adelaide, northern Adelaide, north-eastern Adelaide, western Adelaide, eastern Adelaide and selected growth areas.
